TeraERC team organizes the IRWorkshop – bringing infrared photonics closer to the future of medicine!

•

We are proud to share that the TeraERC team was involved in the organization of IRWorkshop, an international event bringing together researchers, technology experts, and representatives of photonics companies at Wrocław University of Science and Technology.

The two-day workshop (October 15–16, 2026) gathered participants from nine European countries and the United States, creating an excellent environment for exchanging knowledge, sharing research achievements, and exploring new opportunities for collaboration between academia and industry.

The discussions focused on the exciting potential of infrared technology in medical diagnostics, including: 🔬 Detection of lung and breast cancer using blood plasma analysis. 🩺 Non-invasive glucose monitoring. 💡 Breath analysis and other innovative diagnostic approaches.

Beyond scientific exchange, IRWorkshop aimed to establish international working groups, promote common measurement standards, and strengthen cooperation across the photonics ecosystem.

For the TeraERC team, contributing to this event was an important opportunity to support the development of international research networks and foster connections that can accelerate the translation of photonics research into real-world medical applications.

A big thank you to all the organizers, speakers, partners, and participants who made this event possible. Together, we are helping shape the future of infrared photonics and its role in healthcare!
